Eindhoven hosts Dutch Design Week every year in October.
It is full of the most exciting and exhilarating ideas surrounding design , sustainability and ways to think and do!
We look forward to it immensely and both staff and 2nd and 3rd year students leave feeling motivated and raring to go!
Here are a few of the exhibits we saw.
and here’s a link to some wonderful images that capture the spirit of the show very successfully
Sarah, collects her certificate after successfully completing her award.
We were delighted last evening to attend the Global Citizenship awards ceremony at the university’s Newton Park campus.
In the most beautiful surroundings Textile Design for Fashion and Interiors’s very own Sarah was presented with the award.
As part of her commitment to gaining the award Sarah enjoyed a period of study in Norway.
Sarah is enthusiastic about the scheme and encourages others to apply to be part of this enhancing experience.
Many many congratulations Sarah.
for a large party of our second and third year students as they prepare to travel to Holland for Dutch Design Week.
They have been poring over the extensive list of talks, shows, exhibitions, workshops, parties, seminars, conferences etc… to build their own unique itinerary.
We look forward to hearing about their impressions of European design and its future and of course the photographs they will take.
We love building networks at Bath School of Art and Design.
Past, present and future students are encouraged to share experiences and connect with each other, even in this case before they start.
Lauren McAleer will be joining us on BA Hons Textile Design for Fashion and Interiors in Sept.
Before she does she is travelling in Asia and currently she’s in Cambodia and lovin’ it.
While away we have suggested that Lauren records the colour, pattern and imagery she sees day to day.
She’ll be set up with fresh ideas for the drawing and colour exploration we tackle from week one of the course.
It will be a fabulous comparison and contrast to what she will be studying with us.
We look forward to more exciting images from Lauren.
We are not jealous Lauren 😉
One of the most satisfying and rewarding trips last year was the study visit to Iceland. Our school collaborated on a joint project with Drexel University USA and we together developed skills offered by both organisations. We shared knowledge in textiles, photography, printmaking, marketing and styling.
Every year we travel and encourage exchange and collaboration.
looking forward to sharing with you our experiences in Japan,Paris,Eindhoven,Poland etc… over the coming weeks.
