Day Trippers

We took the tourist bus around Bath.

The first year induction included a ‘wheeled’ acclimatisation of the city.

We had no need to emphasise the wonderful world heritage sites but we did point out the fantastic shops, where graduation is held etc..and we also mentioned the night clubs in passing!

Bath School of Art and Design, wonderful in any season.

Front

The School of Art and Design has acquired a ‘new to them’ building.
The Action Factory on Locksbrook Road in Bath, in the UK.

The iconic building is situated next to the river and within walking distance of both the city centre and the main student accommodation.

Although textiles won’t be centred there we will of course use all the facilities and be part of the bigger picture.
We have our own exciting plans under wraps and, as they say, watch this space.

Currently there’s a staff exhibition in part of the space and this show, along with the student exhibition at Sion Hill, has been drawing in the crowds.

If you missed our show we will be at New Designers from Weds 28th June until Sat 1st July 2017 and then again at RHS Hampton Court from July 4th -9th July 2017

Please say Hi. We love to talk to you.

Below are pictures from the show and images of the building before the adaptation.

The grounds on a summer’s evening

Up, up and Away

It’s always thrilling to watch the hot air balloons take off from Victoria Park in Bath.

During the warm summer evenings students take picnics into the many green spaces in the city to watch this spectacle.

Social Butterflies

What could be nicer than on a spring evening joining fellow artists and designers at the opening of a terrific show?

We went along on Wednesday evening to view the work of a ‘sister’ course here at Bath School of Art and Design
Creative Arts Practice is the ideal course if your textile process is informed and engaged in art based thinking.
You will use textile media to create work and concepts which are considered gallery based.
