Using flat colour and how to balance a composition

There are a myriad of skills and techniques(and indeed pure inventive, creative talent)employed when starting out to create a new design or pattern.

Here the students use their own instinctive ability and resourcefulness and combine it with the theoretical and practical skills we are sharing with them.

With confidence

Having now understood the effect colour can have on a design and mastered how to handle accents and dominant hue the students confidently experiment.
This module has all been about flat colour next year we look at texture and it’s application.

Introducing colour

Fabulous colour experimentation from the 1st years.Mixing and taking ownership of all their chosen colours and combinations.
It’s fascinating to witness the confidence gained from trial and error and finally SUCCESS from selected colourways and combinations.
