Transferable Skills

The wonderfully talented Lauren Deakin, Alumni of the School of Design, has sent me this link to her new venture.

Transferable skills, that’s what we aim to nurture.

Congratulations Lauren on your new business

NEL CREATIVE

So happy and excited that I have now created a leaflet for a lovely dog walking company here in south wales. I love working on projects that I get a real buzz from, who doesn’t love dogs? 🐶.

Wherever you are in the UK or world for that matter I’m here to help your creative ideas come true so send me a message to get started.

Professional standards

The 3rd years step up to the mark and produce work of industry standard.
They will spend this academic year honing their skills to produce a professional portfolio ready for the commercial world.

Here Cat is discussing her working painting for print.

Surprise

Waiting for me at work this morning was a huge box of beautifully decorated mugs from product company Printster.
The 2nd year students designed for the Printster team and one of the outcomes, from the brief, were their own designs printed onto mugs.
Great fun.

The Making Project

An ongoing brief for the 2nd years is a project centered around idea, design, making, product and sales.

The students will be selling their work from June 6th at Sion Hill for the duration of the degree shows.

Fingers crossed this will develop into sales beyond the school into showcases, festivals, fairs and eventually an online presence.

Here’s a glimpse of some of the prints. They are turning into fabulous outcomes. No wonder I am always skint!
